Top 3 Mistakes Beginners Make in Last War: Survival (And How to Fix Them)
Are You Wasting Your Precious Resources?
Starting out in Last War: Survival can be overwhelming. With multiple currencies, endless tasks, and a fast-paced environment, itโs easy to make decisions that stall your progress for weeks. After consulting with top players in KxO and analyzing hundreds of base setups, weโve identified the three most commonโand debilitatingโmistakes beginners make.
Hereโs how to spot them and fix them.
Mistake #1: Spreading Resources Across Too Many Heroes
The Problem: The game throws a lot of heroes at you early on. The natural instinct is to level them all up evenly, ensuring you have a โbalancedโ roster. This is a trap. In Last War, a single level 100 UR hero will absolutely obliterate five level 60 SSR heroes. The Fix: Pick one primary squad (typically your main 5 pushers) and funnel 95% of your EXP and skill points into them. Specifically, prioritize your main damage dealer and your primary tank. Let your secondary and tertiary squads lag behind; they are for gathering and secondary objectives, not frontline combat.
Mistake #2: Ignoring the Tech Center (Research)
The Problem: Upgrading the Headquarters is flashy and unlocks new buildings, but the real power multipliers lie in the Tech Center. Beginners often neglect research because itโs expensive and time-consuming, focusing solely on troop training and base expansion. The Fix: Your Tech Center should be running 24/7. Prioritize research paths that boost construction speed and research speed first (this pays massive dividends over time). Once those are maxed for your level, pivot heavily into military tech that benefits your primary squadโs troop type.
Mistake #3: Wasting Speedups on Small Wait Times
The Problem: You have a building that takes 45 minutes to finish, and you use a 1-hour speedup because you want to start the next upgrade before logging off. Youโve just thrown away 15 minutes of value. The Fix: This sounds tedious, but always use the smallest speedups possible to close the gap, or wait out the last few minutes. Better yet, save your massive speedups (8-hour, 24-hour) for specific Alliance Duel days or events where using speedups directly translates into points and rewards. Using a 24-hour speedup on a random Tuesday just to rush a radar upgrade is a massive waste of potential event points.
The Golden Rule: Patience is Power
Last War: Survival is a marathon, not a sprint (unless youโre dropping thousands of dollars on day one). Resource management is the actual game you are playing; the battles are just the visual representation of how well you managed those resources.
